DIY Riso Printing

You can get fully involved in the production of your riso prints by bypassing our printing service and doing it yourself!

We have booking slots on Monday afternoons for both supervised printing and 1-1 teaching time. Click the options below for more info.

1-1 Riso Teaching

One hour of 1-1 riso teaching to learn the ins-and-outs of the machine, so that by the end you should know how to operate it yourself.

Some people may need more than one session for this to build confidence, or if there's just a bit of extra learning to do.

This is the place to ask questions and get stuck into learning riso in a hands-on way outside of a group workshop. Two masters (stencils) and limited test paper is included in this price - anything extra can be added onto the tab to pay at the end of the session. If you wish to bring along your own paper, please let us know so we can advise on what's suitable.

When? Monday afternoons, booking required.

Where? WHALE Arts Centre, Wester Hailes.

How much? £35 standard rate, £28 for local community members.

Supervised Printing

One hour of DIY riso printing on our press, with use of our paper cutter and long arm stapler if needed. To sign up, you must have already had a 1-1 teaching session with Mhairi so you know how to work unassisted.

Troubleshooting is allowed if something weird happens, but if you require teaching, you will be charged for a taught session. Two masters (stencils) and limited test paper is included in this price - anything extra can be added onto the tab to pay at the end of the session.
